About Zoe Ferguson

Zoe is a mother of 2 who has coached and competed in triathlons as a competitive Age Grouper.

Zoe started getting into swimming, riding and running a bit more seriously when she arrived in Australia in 1999.  Between then and children (2005) she has competed in many fun runs, triathlons and events including the Pier to Pub 1km swim, Round the Bay in a Day Ride (approx 200kms), The VIC and TAS Bike Rides (600kms), Melbourne Half and Full Marathon, Coomera Half Ironman and any local event which seemed challenging!

In 2009, Zoe decided to raise funds for children with cancer and set out to train for the Ironman in WA, consisting of a 3.8 km swim, 180km ride, 42.2 km run. At the time, Zoe’s children were 4 & 2 years of age and was juggling full time work along with training slots with her husband who was also competing in the Ironman WA. Both finished the IM in sub 11 hours, Zoe coming 4th in her AG in a time of 10 hours 35 minutes. Since then Zoe has competed in the Melbourne IM in a time of 10 hours 11 minutes.

Zoe also competes in Sprint, Olympic (Standard) and Half Ironman Distance. She has represented Australia in the ITU World Championships (Olympic) with the fastest female AG bike split time of the day. She has also conpeted in the Half Ironman World Championships and represented Australia in the Ironman World Championships in Kona, Hawaii (2014 & 2016).

Zoe is passionate to inspire others to juggle work/life/balance whilst achieving their goals and has presented at corporations and schools on the importance of health & well-being, being resilient, flexible and having goals set in place. Zoe has coached an athlete to compete in their first Ironman and been involved in running local children’s duathlon and triathlon events. She currently coaches an U9 Netball team and the local Nippers.

Zoe has a BA (Hons) Food & Consumer Management, is a certified Triathlon Coach (Level 1), Personal Trainer (Certificate III), Sports Masseuse, Trainer & Assessor (Certificate IV in Training & Assessment), Bronze Medallion (Life Saving Victoria) and is accredited with Working with Children.
